Tammy (author) from North Carolina on June 26, 2012: There is something in the music that stirs the soul each time I hear them and or many others. Funny as I came across this I have the Celtic Women playing in the background. what a great hub of tradition Celtic music. Rolly A Chabot from Alberta Canada on July 11, 2012:

There isn't a more comforting genre than Celtic Music. I didn't previously know about all these Celtic singers and music and this is a great catalog of Celtic music for me. I love Celtic music and songs as I have a bit of Welsh in me. Tammy: What a wonderful hub! I so enjoyed reading this and listening to the music. Suzette Walker from Taos, NM on March 18, 2014: Thanks for this hub! Just another link to that age and to this age as well. I may even put this link in those posts about Camelot and the players and the lives of those who lived then. There be too many things and stories that collaborate that people just don't see. I am half Welsh myself and delve into the tales and legends and truth of Camelot on Bubblews. Thank you!! UP+++ pinnedĭebra Allen from West By God on March 18, 2014: This is BEAUTIFUL!!! How I LOVE Celtic music. Suzie from Carson City on March 18, 2014:

The song was featured in the movie Margaret's Museum, with Helena Bonham Carter. Also from Cape Breton is The Rankin Family.their song "Chi Mi Na Morbheanna" brings me to tears. I encourage you to look up the music of Natalie MacMaster, she finely represents traditional Cape Breton fiddle music and is popular worldwide. Nova Scotia is also the only place outside of the west coast of Europe where the Gaelic language is spoken (it is officially its own variant of Scots Gaelic, as it has been isolated for so long). The region has strong historic and cultural ties to Scotland, Nova Scotia meaning "New Scotland." Traditional music is very popular and it is not uncommon to find local ceilidhs in most small communities, and families that still come together to play traditional fiddle or pipe music during evenings. Nova Scotia for instance is home to the Celtic Colours festival on Cape Breton Island, one of the largest celtic music festivals in the world. Just respectfully chiming in here! Many parts of Canada are still quite culturally connected to the celtic world in music, folklore, and even accents. I did notice a few snickers and/or shock towards Loreena McKennit being from Canada. The Gael-"The Last of the Mohicans Soundtrack" Orthodox Celts-"The Star of the County Down"ģ6. You can buy them at Bandcamp (the cheapest way, as he can set his own prices there).28. To find out a little bit more about von Ziegler, read the Facebook post he put up a couple of days ago where he gives some insight into his background, and talks about how he creates his music.Īnd, of course, if you like what you hear, Adrian von Ziegler currently has 15 albums out covering the breadth of what he composes. ‘Moonsong‘, which is a lovely piece of Celtic music, a short piece of fantasy music called ‘ Forest Children‘, and one that he calls ‘dark music’ - ‘ Tainted Heart‘. Over the last few months, I’ve listened to many hours of Adrian von Ziegler’s music and, although I have loved all of it, there are several videos that are my favorites. He must be one of the most prolific composers on YouTube today.

Adrian von Ziegler is 25 years old and has been uploading his original music to YouTube for over six years since he was in his late teens. During that time, he has composed enormous amounts of music - from short videos of Viking music just three minutes in length, to long videos with more than 10 hours of instrumental work he has composed for all kinds of genres.
